2007 'Open House' day for Pageant
members on Sunday
Following three years' successful summer
meetings, we held an 'Open House' day for Pageant members on Sunday,
15 July 2007. 52 members were present, together with two Gambians
who were visiting the UK; Ishmaila Sanyang (Smiley) and Bakary
Congira. Smiley is a barman in a Gambian hotel, and Bakary is
studying Health Care to work in up-country clinics. A total of
£322.28 was raised by charging for lunch, a raffle and a Gambian
mini-market. The money raised by charging for the lunch was donated
to Bakary to help with his work. Pageant was also presented with a most generous cheque
(£1,000) by Horsham Rotary. We will bring you full details of this
in a news item soon.
Pageant North
