This clip was filmed at Bakalarr
School nursery class in October 2004. The container sent by
Pageant to The Gambia in September included some great ride-on toys,
donated by Bramley Nursery School in Surrey. The children had seen
nothing quite like these before, but were soon having a great time. Pageant
paid for the headmaster,
Mr Gitteh, to make an area of hard standing outside the nursery
classroom, so that the children could ride the bikes
better than on the soft sand. He has arranged for
the children to have a special time every day to use their new
toys, as learning to share things and how to co-operate
during playtime is an important lesson!
