Pageant News 27 November 2007
On Sunday 25 November we were treated to a most entertaining and
enjoyable evening of 'fun, live music and song' by the acclaimed
Sussex choir
Vivace!, Director of Music John Sandford, in Southwater Parish
Church.

The evening was organised on behalf of
Pageant by the Southwater Parochial Church Council, most of the hard work being
done by Stephen Chapman, to whom we offer our very grateful thanks.
Our thanks go also to Dominic Newstead, the Vicar of Southwater, and
the team of ladies who helped with the refreshments in the interval
- and of course, to the choir themselves, who were MAGNIFICENT.

The audience enjoyed a most varied programme, with a mix of music
ranging from the sixteenth century to rock 'n roll, some items being
performed by soloists or smaller ensembles on a variety of musical instruments. The choir even managed to include an African number in
each half of the programme - particularly appropriate for Pageant,
we thought. The concert raised £350 for Pageant after paying all
expenses.
Vivace! are a small choir of mixed voices based in Ditchling, East
Sussex, who perform with the aim of supporting good causes. They are
well worth going to listen to and you can find a list of their 2007
& 2008 concerts on
their website
by clicking the 'Concerts' link.
