Golf Day to raise funds for Pageant and
Macmillan
Postponed until further notice
Two of Pageant's Welsh members, Diane Rowberry
and Marina Thorpe, had planned a Golf Day at Blackwood Golf Club on
12 September, with proceeds split between Pageant and
Macmillan
Cancer Support. They have worked
hard to organise lots of good prizes for the day, but numbers
registering for the event have been disappointing. They have decided
to postpone the Golf Day to some future date, and Blackwood Golf
Club has agreed to let them hold the event whenever the time is
right. Some money has already been donated, and Diane and Marina are
determined to continue their fundraising, They are proposing to hold
cheese & wine nights and raffles, and make a donation to both
charities when a 'tidy sum' has been raised.
We will bring you more details of the Golf
Day when we have a new date. Keep checking this page for more

Blackwood Golf Club is a nine-hole
course - Par 66 and around 5300 yards, On the sponsored day, the
competition will be over 18 holes - Diane says "we go round twice,
you will be surprised, it's a lovely little course". It is located
about 15 miles north of Cardiff, just off the A4048 road. See
