Donations - MOFEST & Spalding High School |
Pageant news 25 September 2011
Pageant has just received two unexpected
donations:
MOFEST
MOFEST is an annual music festival, which
takes place
every August at Coneyhurst, West Sussex, in a field adjacent
to Tim & Deb’s barn, where we store stuff and load it for shipping
to The Gambia. After this year's festival on Saturday 13 August, we received a donation of
£400 after Deb
had suggested that £1 from everyone’s entry ticket payment should go
to Pageant.
Spalding High School
Spalding High School, is located in
Stonegate, near Spalding in Lincolnshire. The 2001-11 Lower 6th
Form created a
Young Enterprise Company
called ‘Treasured’, selling hand-made treasures such as photo
frames and memory boxes. They got through to the county final at
Lincoln and finished the competition with a total of four
awards. (see
this web page for more details)
We have just received a donation of £200 from the Managing Director
of ‘Treasured’, Charlotte Smith. She was in The Gambia with her
family at the same time as Pippa and Ian in April 2011 and came to
Kings Kid Academy to help with art and science workshops for the
children there. |

We were delighted with both these donations, ‘specially as they were
completely unexpected!
