Members of the EMUS SEM user group
sponsored prizes for the best drawings of things seen under the
microscope, in each of three schools, Bakalarr [MAP
showing Bakalarr school],
Jarreng [MAP
showing Jarreng school] and
Sinchu Baliya [MAP
showing Sinchu Baliya school]
- one prize per year group for each school.
At Sinchu Baliya, children from Grades 5 and 6 had drawn up
to three items each and the teachers had selected the ten best
entries from each grade. The overall standard was very high,
particularly when one considers that these children had never looked
through a microscope before. We decided to give three prizes in each
Grade - these are two of the six winning entries.
