On Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 September, a
group of Pageant members got together to pack items for Gambian
schools. This time we are sending 32 double school desks and 64 chairs to go
with them (another gift from
Bramley School
in Surrey), 7 classroom tables, 20 additional chairs, 5 workmate-type
benches, woodworking tools, 4 sewing machines, 11 manual
typewriters, 2 electric typewriters, about 80 packages of clothes,
bedding, 4 scout tents complete with poles and pegs, 10 boxes of 100
exercise books, several boxes of pens and pencils (many of these
from Oliver - see
Oliver's page), dictionaries, paper and a flat-pack cupboard. The
shipment should arrive while Pippa and Ian are in The Gambia. They
will be reporting if it all went according to plan when they get back!
